I love how quickly you Quail people respond to things,

. There is definitely more of a community on the quail boards, though i do not discount all the help I have received from the others. Being 22, a junior in college (fast approaching senior year) and really just getting started with birds: the internet really is the best resource.

Also, after looking at your websites Chick ID page I noticed something about the Jumbos, Browns and Rosettas. They all look the same save that the Jumbos seem to have more white/light markings on their face than the Browns/Pharaohs but less then the Rosettas. Is this true?

Hey hey I am 23

Unfortunately the internet isn't so great on some info on quail....But there are better ones than others

The rosettas look much different in person, they don't have the yellow on them that the browns (pharaohs) and jumbo browns have. They are mostly dark red with black stripes on them, and might have a 'cinnamon-sugar' look to their fluff. More like cinnamon-pepper, but you get the idea

Let me rephrase that, the rosettas don't have the yellow on their bodies like the others do, but they usually do have some on their faces. At least mine do

There are lighter and darker "rosetta" chicks. They do have a distinct little cinnamon fluff to them like Shelley mentioned. I will try and get some other color shades up there

I should have new pictures up soon!! Finally convinced the camera to do what I asked!! So I'm more confused than ever, but not by this thread. I was reading the Basics of Coturnix thread and can't stop thinking what.

What is the relation between a Dark Range (Tibetan) and a Red Tibetan. I assume that a Red Tibetan would be similar to a Dark Range with more red in it's coloring? I'm looking at this like I do chickens.. Like with say Modern Games there are Silver and Gold Duckwings: same bird, different pattern/coloration. Is this the same for these so called "red Tibetans" in relation to regular Tibetans??
