Can anyone help me understand the genetics of my gander? I'm trying to figure out what color and pattern he would be considered. Also what makes his bill and feet bright pink compared to other geese that are typically Orange.

My guess would be lilac pied. light tan or brown diluted feathers is usually lilac and is a diluted buff color in ducks lilac breed back to lilac is then called lavender. Have no ideal about the beak and legs.

Thank you so much for your response. I feel like he's more of a light gray toned then brown but so lilac definitely makes more sense. I've had a lot of people say buff but I feel like he would have more of a brown tone if that was the case. Can you tell me if he is considered a splash, pied, or poorly saddled?

He seems to have the spot gene which is pied. Since he is diluted you can call it splash. I have some young ones growing right now but not in feather will try to remember to take some pictures when they feather out to show some examples.. The babies are from a friend who took my buff Africans and breed into his white Africans who cary the blue gene someone in there past bred in embden who carry the blue gene

I have 5 just starting to get to the feather stage. there all a little muddy today also. But wouldn't know till full feather if diluted (lilac-silver) or diluted pied. the one in front of my older girl is lilac (dilute buff). Then the other 2 in this pic are towards the back to the left are silver and lilac. the rest are whites a 005.JPG
