color question white from mottled?

Somehow I've wound up with 4 white bantam cochins. All either came from blue matings or mottled. Can you get whites from mottled? They were supposed to be blue or black mottled. They aren't splash colored but pure white.

You can get white if both parents are carrying recessive white.

they will however, carry the mottle gene.. rec white will mask any other colours.

Yep, and can be carrying the blue gene also, if they came out of blue matings.

That makes sense. I've also wound up with a white frizzle bantam cochin out of a black frizzle roo and blue hen..
