Color traits questions

Think it’s cuckoo or barred. I’ll get a better photo. Any idea what genetic traits are hiding in there? I plan on breeding to Silkies to improve feathering but what would be the best Silkie color(s) to use in a cross?
Looks gold based, if not Autosomal Red.

Color is upto you. Colors can be mixed, & matched to get funky results, or produce something pretty.

Or you can go with one color, or pattern, & keep it simple.

Partridge phenotype is one of the genes in play. It is relatively difficult to select out once it is in a flock. Slow Feathering with the k4 gene appears to be present on one of them. Do they show lack of body feathers when @3 weeks old? It is a very useful gene if working with barring or pattern. It is a detriment if working with most solid colors.

Yes they have thin feathering and are more bare than our purebred Naked Necks. I have purebred Silkies and plan on buying more. I want to understand the genes at work here. I would like to create a candy corn or crele showgirl. This is the start. Can you tell me what dominant and recessive genes you see in each of these babies?

So say I want to continue the barring pattern on #3. Should I use red, buff, or partridge Silkies? Would it be dependent on the chick’s sex?
