Colorado butcher

I have 4 hens in Littleton Colorado...they are over 4 years old, eggs are getting sporadic.

Ideally, I would love to find someone that would care for them and let them live out their lives. They are very friendly and great bug eaters.

But I may be needing a butcher.

Baby chicks are showing up at store this week. Need to make the decision.

Any suggestions?

Go for it, personally I try and add a few subtract a few each year. Makes for a healthier flock.

Maybe you will get a taker, to keep forever, but once they are no longer They will be stewing hens which will make a very flavorful broth and soup. However, a lot of people cannot eat their own birds. Giving them away to a family who can, is honorable. But really a good life, a quick dispatch, and push up roses is also an option.
