ZERO F in the coop this morning. And yet again, my chickens don't seem to mind it in the least. I went out to make sure the water wasn't frozen, cleaned up some ice and added warm water to the trough. All the chickens were out and about in the chicken yard scratching about and looking for food. No issues at all that I could see.

I have a batch cooking right now, just put them in the bator this morning. They should hatch around the 2nd. If you can't find anything to hatch and you'd be interested pm me. . Olive Eggers and Easter Eggers mostly with a small chance of pure Marans (only 3 chocolate eggs)

I'm wondering if you would be interested in selling me a couple of pullets down the road from some of your eggs. I'm really wanting to get a colorful egg basket but I'm not sure if I trust myself to try to hatch eggs.. I pay well (extra well if i could get a pure maran!). My coop should be done in a few more weeks and I am itching to get some chickens!

It all depends on if I have any left from selling the chicks. If I end up growing out some chicks from this batch I will definantly let you know.

We had ambient temp of 2 F when I opened the door this morning, and once again they all hustled down the ramp and out to forage.

For the most part. A little blew away, but we had walked on it enough that it was packed down pretty good.

-9 degrees here in Franktown. There are 2 heat lamps and a space heater running in the barn. The chooks are doing fine but the horses HATE being locked down. What a mess... P

I'd also be interested in purchasing chicks. Are all of them claimed already? If not I'd like to purchase 10-12.. I think that would be the correct number so I end up with 5-6 hens. I'm just really chicken-envious of your egg basket and would love to have some just like it! When/ how much would you be selling them?

Are you going to be at the stock show either/both days of the poultry show?  My son's trip home was postponed until next weekend, so since I'll be bringing him back up to Denver Sunday the 20th I'm probably going to go that afternoon.
