Only downside I can think of is that everything is expensive (milk is over $5 a gallon I believe)
But that's it. And I can deal with that. I will just have to get my own cow!

DH has some interest from one of the job applications he turned in. The job is in Hawaii! HAWAII!!! Ohhhh, the possibilities.

I am BEGGING my hubby to look at Hawaii when he retires and goes for civilian equivalent of his job...I got a big fat NO.

It's ok....  Sometimes only another chicken person can understand how you feel.  It's been my experience  that the more  you love chickens, the more you get along with other chicken people.  Sort of like joining the Marines without all the physical fitness.

Thanks, I remember when I started with this I was so upset and everyone kept saying it was unlikely I would be successful. I am sad my girls are not as friendly but at least in this case it worked to my advantage. BTW has anyone had there girls scoff at foods they love, appearing to do it because you want them to enjoy the treat???? I swear, spoiled teenagers!!

Chick.... I wish your husband luck, I have been to Hawaii and there are some down sides to living other then just price. However with this job market a job is a job, just spend all your time on the beach, learn some Japanese and you will be fine. I can teach you some basic Japanese if he gets the job.

Everyone mark May 18th on your calendars: It's Mike the Headless Chicken Day! Celebrated each year in Fruita, CO, it commemorates Mike, a Wyandotte cockerel that survived a botched axe killing. He retained most of his brainstem, which enabled him to live. He was hand fed milk, water and corn. He became a side show attraction, generating an income that in today's dollars, at his peak, would have been about $48,000 in a single month. Sadly, he died in March of 1947. Mike the Headless Chicken Day events include the "5K Run Like a Headless Chicken Race", egg toss, "Pin the Head on the Chicken", the "Chicken Cluck-Off", and "Chicken Bingo", in which chicken droppings on a numbered grid choose the numbers.

I think it would be fun to have a celebration ourselves, and Beth and I would be willing to host such an event at our place..... No 5K run, but a party of sorts nonetheless.

Candled last night, results were ok. I have 10 firmly attached air cells, 10 loosely attached air cells (the edges move but they stay in place) and 2 rollers. So I am leaving the turner off for 2 more days then checking again.
