Hello to all the Colorado Folks!

I have already met a couple of you. Thanks for the warm welcome!

I am in the Arvada area, and would love to chat with those close by! We have 3 HUGE coops, one for layers, one for hatching, and one is actually the woodshed!

We are working on cleaning them and getting them sterilized -- best suggestions? They have been housing wood, rabbits and mice.

We have grand plans -- chickens, ducks, swans, turkeys, guineas and peafowl. But we will start with the chicks.

I love all the new lingo -- run sop (what?), chooks (again what?), I can't wait to get "hip" with all this!

I saw some SAHM and Homeschooling families -- that is us as well.

I see all the Coors posts. I grew up in Golden--right across the street--really! I cannot STAND the smell of hops!

Im up by the longmont area. We are homeschooling as well. We love it. We also have a huge flock of birds, geese, guineas, chickens big and small, 2 turkeys and a bunch of ducks.

I am in Central Arvada. I am so blessed to be on 50 acres right smack in the middle of the city.

What is the best way to sterilize the old coops and should we paint in the inside? What is a poop board, a run sop and a chook?

Can you tell I am new?
