has anyone managed to get ahold of any favaucanas? They seem like they are kind of hard to find. I've talked to several different places that order from quite a few diff hatcheries and nobody is able to get them.

New one to me - cross between Faverolles and Araucanas?

So ... we have another 1"+ on the pad for the shed, and still no shed. I was assured it would be delivered by 4 today, then shortly thereafter received a call about misplacement of doors and assurance it would be corrected prior to delivery. It is not here. I made sure to be here as soon as I could this afternoon to verify correct configuration, to no avail. By this time tomorrow if I don't have it here I guess I will have to file complaints and begin the literal scramble to have a structure in place. At this point I have to say even if it arrives beyond perfection there is no way I would recommend this seller to anyone who cared about timely service. I am well past disappointment and into anger.

Wendell, sorry I didn't get there today, as you note above I thought I had to be here to receive a shed kit. Fourth day in a row I have cancelled/put on hold other things I had to do, to wait for no shed. By now we could have built one from lumber. This not only not a time saver, it is a time waster. Grrr.

Frustrating to hear. I have read similar stories from people on Craigslist about that guy. I hope you get things settled. Really frustrating being strung along like that.

On a lighter note. I just swapped out thermostats from Lowes to rule a faulty thermostat out of the equation on my incubator. I also got some waterweld epoxy putty( the RTV STILL isn't even close to dry! I even bought the 'quick dry' one...) to replace the RTV. Says it cures in 1 hour and can take heat up to 300 degrees. I also filled up 12 baby food jars to simulate the thermal mass of a dozen eggs. Testing begins now. Ill let y'all know how it turns out.

See, there will someday be a market for mutts like mine. Heck, if favaucanas can become totally cool..... =)

matt: if you want easter egger mutts... i have some hatching on friday. daddy will either be a silkie, a frizzle or a marans.

Wendell: I think the dom cross is a silkie mix. some of the feathers growing in are very wispy looking. it's a pretty little thing and little is the operative word. I'm still not sure who the daddy for the easter egger mix is. i'm thinking marans as it's grey, like the chick from three hatches ago.

lockdown starts tomorrow for fridays hatch.
