Melissa, I have ducklings!

Not sure how many yet. Chrissy is not being cooperative on a head count.

Anyone in the Springs or Fountain know how to set up a dog run and fix chin link? I just got a dog run from a yard sale and it is pretty beat up. I have NO idea how to fix it.

Holy moley!! Yay!!! I can't wait!!

I got the pond put up today too. Is water hyacinth safe for ducks to be around? IF so I am going to put some of that in there too to help filter the water.

Not sure about safety. Generally if it is poisonous they just wont eat it.

It looks like I have 8 or so. Still hard to get a count. BOY is she a protective mama.

How many did you want? A couple of girls? I can sex the pure breds but I have one runner/wh and have no idea if the pink bill = girl thing works for the mutts.

Boys are $5. Mutts are $5. Pure bred WH girls are $7

If you have a brooder set up, anytime. Just let me know so I can go get them away from mom. She already hates me (always has) so it wont upset our relationship...LOL

Do you have my address? Just PM me and let me know what works for you.

That would be great. I have a friend who teaches pre-school and she wanted me to bring by some ducklings to show the rugrats. Do you think I could coordinate so I can stop by the school, show the ducklings and then stop by your place?

We are currently living in unincorporated weld county inside the southern edge of dacono :-) We just started raising chickens this year. Went to Murdochs(sp?) in longmont for feed and came home with five chicks. went to work that afternoon, came home that night and somehow the chicks had replicated themselves into three more and the DP had a "i'm innocent" look on his face. so now we currently have 8 chicks, each one a different breed (and supposedly all pullets) in addition to the 25 we are getting from Sandhill. I am so excited to be finally starting my small family farm. Chickens this year and next, then sheep, goats, pigs and either cows or yaks! Plus we are doing vegetables this year! yay us! :-) So, at some point there will be more fresh farm eggs relatively cheep (hehe) in the longmont/firestone area!
Matt
