Those of us that feed FF, can and do feed it to chicks. Have you gone over to the natural chicken thread? Most of us over there FF for all our birds.

I've started FF for my chicks and they LOVE it. Flocking to me when I put it in the brooder and chirping happily for quite some time after. I've just been fermenting a small amount in a used juice container (less than a gallon) and it never seems to bubble... Is it really fermenting or am I just giving my girls well soaked feed?

How long did you leave it the first time? Did you use ACV? I have two buckets going, that way one "cooks" for about three days while I'm feeding from the other. Mine bubbles, a lot.

So what's the deal with ff? Do they still eat all day as with regular feed? My chicks have a hanging feeder. What type of feeder do you use? What age do you start using ff?

I've read it's good for chicks too, helps establish a healthy gut, haven't tried it yet on chicks but plan to shortly. We put a big pot out in the morning which they usually empty by noon. I've seen pictures of a hanging pvc trough being used, but i don't think you could put it in a regular feeder cuz it's like slop. We leave the regular feed out for them also.
