Hi Joey. Your buff orps sound great-my dds would love friendly chickens. I don't have any other chickens. That's one of the reasons I am so upset. The coop has been ready since June but I've been waiting for the breeder. But it has been nothing but "two more weeks...two more weeks...two more weeks..."

So I was hoping to get some girls sooner rather than later.

Does anyone know where I could get 4 Rhode Island Red pullets at the point of lay?

I've done all my research, I'm building my coop this Saturday, and then I'll be ready, but I haven't found anywhere that can sell me RIR of that age. (I've tried Craigslist, newspaper ads, and egg sellers, but keep finding zip.)

I would think there'd be someone close to you that would have pullets around that age. There are several members that live down that-a-away.

There are around 12. Half roosters the other half are hens just now laying eggs.

Not long ago on Craigslist, was a animal feed supply near 1330 S Parker Rd....the name is escaping me.....something like Pollards
Anyway they had older pullets and its an elderly gentleman who runs it. The store is tucked in what looks like a residential area and he had mainly layer breeds. Sorry the name is just not coming to me.

Has anyone been to the Brighton Poulty Swap at Brighton Feed that is held every other month. I am concerned that the roosters and ducks I have a surplus of will be someones dinner. The roosters I could handle but the bantum ducks would be hard. I would appreciate any info on the gathering.
