Colorado

I have shoveled and shoveled outside runs (or at least some roaming room) for the Youngsters, the Rogue Roos aka Meaties cause that is what they are going to be, and the Big Girls pens. I think I am ready for the foot+ expected in this next outburst of Spring!

I've heard there's a place in the Springs besides the Restore to get surplus lumber etc. Does anyone know the name of it or where it is?

It's called "Used Again Building Materials" located at 506 West Cucharras, phone numberis 473-2150.
Tell Rick (the owner) that Pat (the lady building the chicken coop) sent you!
They have awesome stuff, a lot of lumber, OSB, and just about anything else you may want. That's where I bought 95% of my materials!

The chickens are staying in today, they are not very happy about the weather either. I have 2 6 week old silkies, and a 6 week old cochin that are starting to stink up my house. I need them out but it's been way too cold and windy.

Oh come on weather, I'm almost done with our coop. I want our meatys out of our greenhouse! How are the rest of you getting on with your coops. I only have two more pallets to put up:) then set the window and side. Oops forgot the roof, ill need one of those too:) so close but so far away. My girls keep investigating, they laid eggs all day as I was working on it but I guess they know its all for them. I heard another storm is coming we didn't get much snow here just cold and ice......I want Spring!
The coop is nearly done (completed the roof this weekend before the storm) and we are hoping to get the run started and well on its way this upcoming weekend. That is if the weather will cooperate.

Here is the coop with my youngest son and DH finishing the roof.

And here is a picture of the girls on their first outing outside with my golden, Finny showing way too much interest. I think he is going to be the reason that the run is going to be predator proof.

I just got 13 7 week old chicks. They are in their new coop, not too happy with the 15+ inches of snow we got. But I think they are warm enough. Their water wasn't frozen this morning in the coop, so I'm sure they are fine.
I just found from Pozzes our Urch order is coming in next week! Blah! I don't know where I am going to put those new day old guys. I didn't plan my new chicks arrival very well, or, more to the point. I didn't understand how chick orders come in! It's all a learning experience.
Off so shovel some more!
