Its easy to get home really quick if you sell decent stock. It takes us about an hour to get to brighton from our house, but it takes us 15minutes to sell out of about 30 roosters and 4 hens (basing off the last one we went to) We usually make a day trip into Ft collins afterwards but are usually home by 10am if we do not. Buyers start to learn who has quality stock and who doesnt and they seek those people out.
Lol, of course we are good! The last time we went we came home with three bunnies so this time we sat in the car and agreed to some basic rules before we got out
no rabbits, geese, ducks, quail or turkeys. only chickens. lol, the fact that we came home with four guinea fowl is irrelevant
and i know at least one of those is female because it made the distinctive female sound! i'm thinking three males and one female, but thats ok. we'll "get rid of" two of them, get some more females and call it happy!
So, here are some pics of our mysterious banty hens! Dunno what they are but I know I've seen a pic of something like them before. Any thoughts?
And here is a pic of momma making the babies all snuggly warm! We had six eggs under her, but I knew two wouldn't hatch because they were clear. just left them there to make sure, and to help keep the warmth in
Out of the other four, three hatched and one did not.
And here is the four guinea fowl, perched on the roof of our outside closet
weee life is fun!
