So how did the coop tour go?I feel bad that my husband killed it. But in all honesty, it was
large, coming at us, and we were hosting a CHICKEN COOP tour
of all things.

That's alot of chickens to process! Great job! What did they charge you?Happy Monday everyone.
I processed 80 meat birds yesterday at Longshadow Farm http://long-shadow-farm.blogspot.com/p/processing.html
They were just the nicest people. They helped a friend and I process the birds. Their equipment was great. The whole thing took about 5 hours. It would have been faster but we cut up most of the birds.
I just wanted people to know we have a processing option in Northern Colorado.
Have a great week.
Glad you got the water fixed. We had fun and misse all who couldn't make it. If we do it again, we'll expect you to be there! LOLI am still bummed that I didn't get to go to ChickenFest..., I so wanted to be there. Breath, breath and don't take it out on the truck.....!
But on the upside, we did get the outside faucet repaired from when it broke last fall and flooded the house for no apparent reason except that the last people who owned the house weakened the connection when they fixed it and then hid the whole thing in a wall behind drywall and wood siding! Now my chickens have hose water and I am not carrying buckets anymore.
Last week of school for the kiddos. How are everyone's kids that came down with the various plagues going around the school system these days? We had our fun earlier in the month....
LOL. Sunday's I have other obligations, so I can't do it at my place on a Sunday.I really wanted to go to Chickenfest. I work at the Farmers Market on Saturdays so next year make Chickenfest on a Sunday, just for me!!! lol
Longshadows charged us $3 a bird. We could have rented the equipment for $100 so we decided it was worth it to have their help and pay $3 a bird. I thought that was cheap. They charge $4 a bird if you don't help. Again, I think that is really cheap.
That WOULD be a switch! Just think of the drop in feed expenses...Good morning Colorado! I have just added a backyard flock. It is a switch from a large farm flock to a tiny urban flock. I will adjust to only having 4 birds-I hope!
