Wendy,
We call her Lynyrd (like Lynyrd Skynyrd).
She is approx 15ish months old EE. I am pretty sure she has never laid an egg. I kept her in a kennel for about a week one time to see if she would lay and nothing. We recently switched to an organic food and I was hoping that might turn on the egg switch, but I don't think it's happening.
She's very quite and is kinda a loner. She is hard to catch. But fits in well with the other 8 I have. I'm only supposed to have 8, so I'd like to have all layers only.
Where are you at?

Hey folks, I just discovered that my first turkey raising adventure has taken a strange turn. I thought I was purchasing 4 BBW turkeys, but at 17 weeks, folks on the forum are telling me what I really have are 4 Royal Palm turkeys. These are considered a rare, heritage breed, but I was really hoping for a fine Thanksgiving feast. Anyone out there interested in trading one or more meat turkeys for one or more Royal Palms?
Royal Palms are heritage turkeys but really not that rare. They are good eating also. THe heritage turkeys we had one year dressed out at 10-12 pounds.

I am back from one trip getting ready for another... Oh well here is a photo I took while away.

P funk I am glad you found a home for your roos. I wish I cold have helped.

It is so dangerous reading these threads.... I get bad ideas....Chicken math, Turkeys....hmmmm
I have a broody silkie, and was thinking about a mystery chick or 2 from Big R. to see if she takes it....hmmmm
Always wanted turkeys... not really set up for them yet.....
I want a plucker too, but only for a rare occasion, i just cant justify the expense. I am much too lazy to hand pluck!! And my wrists may not appreciate the task anyway...
Really have plenty on my plate, and shouldnt go down these roads...You guys are dangerous!!!!
