Colorado

There are small local feed mills all over the state that will do custom blends, sell it in bulk, bag custom blends...No need to travel far.

On the N side, you've got the Greeley Elevator. They have a 500# minimum on custom blends or bulk feed (their own blends), They can not pelletize. ( Their equipment is so old you'd of thought you went back in time 100 years when you walk in there) They sell it in a large tote or for an additional $.25 they will bag it. I buy my horse feed from them.

Ranch Way in FC has a one ton minimum on custom blends. They can pellitize or crumble. tote or bagged.

Feeder Supply (down the street from RW) mills their own chick mash. Again old equipment and does not pellitize. Another cool old building. (Not ADA compliant). That's the only product they mill as far as I know.

Agfinity. (recent merger of Agway and American Pride Coop. Agway did all the milling)

There is a mill at the High Plains Livestock yard in Brush but don't know anything about their deal.

Someone bought the Butterball feed mill in Platteville recently so we might see that one come back online next year.

Don't know any other specific mills but you see them all over.

You can buy bagged grains from any feed store. Did everyone notice feed went down a few $$ recently? Thank goodness for a great corn crop.

ANybody got a caption? This is Isaac, American Dominique cockerel 7 months old.

Thanks for the Update.
I am down in Fountain Colorado.
I do get up North about once a month but would like a Mill down here if possible.

Nice looking chicken!

Thanks! These two guys are pretty "randy" right now. Abraham is kept busy chasing them away from "his" hens. LOL

Ishmael's wings (#6) hang a little low, but he looks pretty good. Comb is nice. His wattles are bigger/longer than what I like too. He will be my backup young rooster for next year.

#1, Isaac, has better wing carriage, better profile, and neater comb and wattles. Both have great beak:head ratio. Coloring and feathering is about equal in both, but Isaac looks better overall. Ishmael likes to prance for the ladies. They are only 7 months old, so we should have a better picture by next spring.

Compared to the ones that went to the freezer though, there isn't any comparison. Hoping for a great hatch from them next spring, which really isn't too far off.........

The Coops are a loosely knit group. On the north side we had Cenex, American pride (merge to Agfinity) and Poudre Valley. I know there are smaller coops all over the state. Every town had their own mill 50 years ago. Find out who's still around. I bet if you go E just a little bit, you'll find a good one. Someone I know in Black Forest buys bulk Coop feed but I don't know from where. (I know it wasn't a name I recognized.) As far as mills there is one in Kiowa and one in Pueblo that would be closer.

CLV not sure exactly what you're after, but you can try Sweeny's in Pueblo. I am convinced their chick starter is the best available, and next year will stock up early. They only make one run, and when it's gone, it's gone. They also make their own grower and layer mixes but I do not believe they offer an all flock.
