If it is any comfort, I have chicks hatched New Year's Day and the following Saturday in a brooder out in the coop, they were out there when it was -6 degrees overnight, and all are fine so far. They have a heat lamp and are in a large plastic storage container for a brooder. Total of 17 chicks. 12 from the keeper out on the Mesa, whose flock is mainly production Reds, and 5 from Mayah's eggs.
