Colorado

The French lock the birds in small cages and feed them corn soak in milk I think is 2 weeks before they meet their destiny, I have all the info in some place but I have to look for it.

Did my last candle yesterday. Filled up both water areas and now I'm in the lockdown. Hopefully I'll get a pair or 3 out of this run.

Anyone else getting the 2014 seed catalogs yet? I have my seed bin out, going through what I think will grow at this altitude. My summer squash did ok last year, but nothing like I had at a lower altitude, they also seem to like hotter temps. Corn is out here, no way is the season long enough. I did find a smaller type watermelon I may try, and some smaller cukes. Is a challenge for sure, but I do love a good challenge!

Good thing, suncatcher LOL. My catalogs are showing up too, but the last two years I decided to only buy local seeds or plants, I think they stand a better chance, are there any stores up there that have local seed or plants?

The only one I have seen in Woodland Park is Walmart, and if I buy from there, I always treat them for aphids with soapy water and a small amount of mint mouthwash. I like starting them from seeds, I have ordered from Bakercreek Heirloom seeds, and been very happy with them. They carry so many different lettuce and tomatoe types is hard to choose. I usually go with the seeds that do well in the north, like russia!! LOL ;)
