Colorado

Today is hatch day for the shipped Welsummer eggs, I have 3 out and one fully zipped and trying to break free, so far no sign of pips on the other 5 in the hatcher, but I'll give them a bit longer before giving up on them. 3 is the expected hatch from 12 shipped eggs at this elevation, so 4 puts me at 33% if the 4th makes it out, which it should. I would be really pleased to have even more, but at least I am getting a hatch.

Any one here live near Eaton? We just moved to the area in September. I gave up my flock when we moved but have ordered chicks for April

I apologize but I don't even know where Eaton is? I mean, I've only been in CO for 17 years ... LOL

Lol! About 12 miles or so from Greeley, does that help? I know I'm about an hour from Denver, that's about the extent of my knowledge on CO!

Eaton is where I get my feed from. The grain mill there. They have pretty good feed and decent prices if you get it by the ton. It is almost time to order again. I have two neighbors that will be going in with me for the next feed order. We should end up with about 3 to four tons. Welcome to Colorado and the Colorado thread.

Thank you! That's great information, we were hoping to be able to get feed closer than Greeley.

I think the feed mill is between the two. I have someone pick it up for me. He has a trucking company. That would be quite the drive from south of Colorado Springs in Fountain.
It is called Agland feed.
