Colorado

Is anyone interested in splitting an order of chickens? I'm looking for Female Polish hens and I could only find 1 hatchery that sexes them. The issue is that I have to order at least 15 chicks (though the breeds can be mixed and matched). I'm wondering if anyone local is interested in splitting an order? I want about 8 or so, so I need someone to go in on about 8 or so.

Let me know if you're interested! Thanks!
I have an order coming from Meyers on April 2nd. I ordered 3 polish pullets (and others). If they have any available you can piggy back your Polish in my order.

11 chicks are out this morning. I put the swolen feet chick back in the incubator for some peace and quiet. It was getting picked on a bit. It is not better this morning. It just lays there and flops around almost like it cant get up on its feet. I dont think its going to make it.

I know this is off topic, but it is livestock and colorado related, but does anyone know anybody with potbelly pigs available? We are looking for one.
Also, checked my 17 EE eggs, and it's looking like all of them have veins! we have about 2 more weeks to go, can't wait!

I just found out someone on our westernaires team is looking to rehome their potbelly.
She said she is very sweet, potty trained, and they would take her back if it ever didn't work out. She is 2. The owner is working more now and feels like she's not getting enough attention. They want to find her a good home. Let me know if you are interested and I'll forward contact info.

Hey Trsturself, Thanks so much for the reply! If you are still interested, I am happy to split an order with you (to save on shipping and help the babies arrive safely), but since everyone pointed out places I can order with smaller minimums, I'll be okay if you don't want to. I was looking at Murray McMurray and was planning on getting my order around April 28th,

Thanks to everyone for letting me know about the other hatcheries! I thought I checked Meyer and it was the same sort of deal, but I must have missed it!

Since you have other options I'll skip. I'm run down with chicks as it is, just offered to help you out. Good luck with them! :)

Changing the subject, hey western slopers...Delta's March Bird Swap is next Saturday. I missed last year (first try). This is the second year for a buy/sell/ swap meet for peafowl, quail, show birds, layer hens, turkeys, ducks, goats, sheep, etc. etc. etc. You get the idea. 639 Main Street, Delta in the Sisson's Feed & Seed parking lot. Run by Razorz Roost, info @ 303-437-8019. Just a heads up!

I still haven't been able to decide on the breed of this chick. I was thinking EE since she didn't look too much like the other chipmunk breeds I could find but as she gets older I'm not so sure. She doesn't have a beard, has bright orange legs (brighter than the pic shows), and a single comb peaking through. Here she is at a day old Here she is now at 1 1/2 weeks The maybe breeds are Cream Legbar, Barnevelder, Welsummer, Partridge Penedesenca, or EE. I have found an example of each of these breeds that looks like this chick!
idk, but she is VERY cute!!! Maybe Welsummer?????

Judi, do you have anything hatched yet this morning?

Yes - I have 10 Dominiques from Wendell's flock, a Dominegger also from his flock, and so far only 1 of the Welsummer eggs, sure hoping for more, 8 went into the hatcher. Two of my eggs are pipped, and one more Dominique is zipping.
