Colorado

Both have wells and both have had people living in the recently or currently so I assume there's water.
Make sure you understand the limitations of the well. Just because you have a well does not mean you can use it for outdoor use. There are some kooky restrictions on wells in the front range. My well can't produce enough household water when it dry (typically most of the winter) so I haul 50%+. Totally sucky. I am the queen of water conservation.

Thanks for the tip about the wells. Started looking into it. Man this state has crazy water laws!
Anyone know the difference between "domestic" and "household use only"? I know the definition of the household use only but is domestic the same or does domestic include garden irrigation and livestock?
I've been looking on the state water website for a couple hours and can't find a good definition. They call it something different when it talks about being able to use it for gardening and livestock.
Still searching but I thought I'd see if anyone knows.

Edit to add - I found it. Domestic includes livestock. :)

samsr, our Murdoch's has goslings, ducklings and rabbits in, for sale, for Easter I assume. I don't know if there are any Murdoch's on the front range or not.

It's Elbert county. I've looked many times! Unfortunately everything under 35 acres is either 15 or 30 depending on zone.
You should move to Boulder County then

Your inspection should include your well, not sure what they "inspect" for exactly, but they will look at it. You can test how many gallons you get per minute by filling up a gallon jugs yourself, just see how many you can fill in one minute, I tested mine by using the livestock spigot. It will not be exact, but close. I put in a well years ago, my property was near the Elbert County/El Paso county line, there is an aquifer in that area. You can check out the state aquifers on the USGS Groundwater website.

ETA, I thought the aquifer was Upper Black Squirrel, but it isn't.

Students Andy Hampsten, left and Logan Gingerich work to make sausages during the Whole Pig Butchery Demonstration & Pork Sausage Crafting Class held by the Boulder Butchery Guild at Cure Organic Farm on Sunday April 6, 2014 in Boulder .

This was a tag on a photo..., I did not know that the Boulder Butchery Guild existed! Maybe a solution for the previous pig posts?
