Aacre - an 11 week old pullet is probably not "letting" a cockerel mount her, she is probably being dragged down by the feathers on the back of her neck. Cockerels are like teenage boys, and once they start doing that it's best to separate them if you can until the pullets are mature and start laying. A pullet that squats for the male, or for the person taking care of her, is almost ready to lay. If an 11 week old pullet is actually squatting, you have one precocious little girl there!
Thank you for your imput! I plan to have a second coop built, so I will be sure to separate the teenaged hormonal boy. lol

Due to the rough weather last Sunday, the Rocky Mtn Pheasant & Waterfowl Assoc Is offering a makeup swap on Sunday May 18th at Agfinity feed store. 7:00 a.m. start time. I'll bring some layer breed pullet chicks--Barnevelder, Buckeyes and welsummers

Katie, I was just getting ready to PM you and ask how the RIR chicks are doing - they look great! I do think the two BR juveniles you posted pics of are males. How old are they?

the lil roosters are about 7 weeks old..only one has started to crow. Which is always an amusing time..they try to hard & make such silly noises!
the babies look like there might be 2 roosters in that batch too...mmmmm
do you have anyone that might want one of the BR guys? right now they seem to have divided up the group & some of the hens hang with each one..but I know the day is coming when they will go at it beak & talon..so before that happens need to find onna them fellers a home.
Let me know!! Anyone that might be in the market for a BR rooster...???? Hello???

I don't think there is many members leaving where I am, but today got an e.mail from a friend that lives on the North Thunder Hill Road saying that yesterday they spotted a mountain lion on the area, the same day there was a mountain lion struck by a car on CR13 witch is just the next road from Thunder Hill, Elbert county face book page said that have not catch the lion jet and it looks that it has cubs as well.

Now if the lion manage to pass the road then my chickens will be lost.

We're moving out that way next month. Not in that area, but south of Elizabeth. I didn't realize there were mountain lions out that way. We saw a bear between Castle Rock and Franktown on one drive out there. Gotta make sure our animals our well protected!
