Colorado

I'm not looking forward to this storm either. Our land is already soggy I don't need more moisture right now. lol
I also had to cancel a bunch of plans this weekend. :(

My neighbor and i did the final candling and locked down 41 out of 42 eggs last night. Hatching should comence Saturday night or Sunday.
My incubator is at his house at the moment. He did not notice that the fan had quit running. I changed it out pretty quickly i do not think the eggs were affected. I should have at least 8 silky americauna eggs hatching. Does anyone want any blue egg layers that look like this once grown.

I think Ashdoes eggs will be mixed with cochin so no blue eggs. Pretty sure she only has cochin roos now. I do have a breeding pair of CCL from her though and hope to have CCL chicks around that time.

Thanks for the clarification! When you have your chicks, I would love to know.

Welcome Guy!

Alebuela - Your cookies will be worth waiting for with fresh eggs in them!

We are supposed to get 2 more feet of snow so I have an excuse to not garden or paint, but stocking-up the firewood is something on the list!

@ Mtn Margie

The cookies are a hit! I should stop beating myself up about not getting everything together for Christmas (or Valentine's Day for that matter). I'll just wait till someone comes to visit, give the cookies away as soon as possible, and keep a few for myself!

Just filled the inside wood box, last of hay is unloaded, back up waters filled, I am sure I forgot something........ Looked at the forecast and seems most of our snow accumulation will be Saturday through Monday, up to 18 inches possible, yikes!

Strange clouds building to the south and southwest, must be full of snow! Chickens are still out laying in the sun, little do they know, big change is on the way.

I might, but not till mid-April. I already asked Trsturself for a CCL blue egg chick, but some silky genes in the Americana sound really interesting. I'll see how things stand in April.

Oh Sam, that is a cute bird...darn you for tempting me....

I just walked by the incubator and I saw that an egg has pipped, I think it pipped...it has a crack in it from the inside out. It's one of PC blue eggs (americauna?). So...here we go I guess, the waiting and watching begins!
