THE SUN CAME OUT!!!!!

And so did all the snowblowers in the neighborhood lol.

I must go get gas before tomorrows harrowing drive to work.

OK. I will leave the eggs for a day or two longer. The two blue eggs from you hatched yellow chipmunk looking chicks and one black chick.
They are big and strong!

I looked at the chick chart on the Ameraucana breeders page and none of the standard chicks matched those colors. They could be X with the blue araucana rooster.

Update on the hatch going on 27 are in the brooder now. 5 are out but drying off in the incubator still. 3 are pipped. A few of the silkie americauna crosses sure are cute. A lot of gray in them. Here is a couple pics.

I am getting all excited to be getting my new chickies too.
I am a little concerned about the up and down weather since I planned on brooding in my coop. Still in a brooder but inside the coop instead of the house. Also thinking of contingency plans just in case.

There is no need to keep them locked inside unless it is bitterly cold, like 10 or more degrees below zero, and even then, they'll still go out as long as the wind isn't ripping. If it's driving snow and the wind is blowing, you might also consider keeping them in. Or, you could open the pop door and let them decide what they want to do

Thanks. Unfortunately the wind is blowing in the direction of their coop door and would accumulate snow inside which is bad.But we will open up as soon as we can.

Those are adorable babies!!!! It got to a high of 3 today......

I shoveled my run out and opened the pop door. No takers on coming out. Not a one set foot on the ground.
