Colorado

Just a heads up about a poultry sale (swap) this Saturday April 11 at Tractor Suppy in Brighton. Its 8a till noon. The store is next to Hwy 85 at north end of town. I know there will be large fowl wyandotte chicks!

Good to know since I have some extras that I need to sell.

Thanks

Located in northern Colorado, and my family and I are searching for a couple Olive Easter Eggers to add to our flock! Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I do not know if they have any currently but Northern Colorado Feeders supply in Fort Collins gets in lots of birds of many different breeds. They may have some.

Try @Samsr he is located in the Springs and has been hatching all spring long. I know he was working in a breeding project of EO.

I am hatching some olive eggers this weekend. I should have four available, if they all hatch. They wont be easter eggers however. The will be a cochin cross. They should lay a nice green egg though.
pozees just south of Pueblo has been working with some oliv eggers also. You may check her also.

Did you see this @barberfamducks ?

Ok so here we go, pull up a chair, get a cup of coffee, get comfy and get ready for some :jumpy

At 8:30am to be exact I set 42 eggs for incubation! I am so :weee and nervous already.

Last night I got the pleasure of meeting @Percheron chick who has a beautiful spot just about 7-8 minutes away from us. I picked up 14 eggs from her flock for hatching (more on this later).

I spent an hour sorting eggs gathered from the past week, I went through and checked the most recent eggs for cracks, thin shells, etc. I was up until midnight making sure eveything was ready to go for launch this am.

I am back and forth on who to sell and who to keep. I love them all. I think I may sell the Buff laced polish. I really really like them but with so many big birds in my flock I mostly want them to be safe. OH I just don't know. I for sure am taking 2 Dark Brahma and some of the Partridge rock. Perhaps even the Iowa Blue since they were an impulse buy.
What on Earth was I thinking getting 23 new chickens. Oh yeah.... my egg customers. Bummer is that most of them went to other suppliers while my hens took the whole winter off. I only have 5 returning customers. I would be so very overrun with eggs if I kept all the babies.
If I do make it I will be in an old beat up pickup with an 8 foot long brooder box lol. Best way I can think of displaying what I have for sale. Going to be an adventure for sure.

Babs
