My wcb polish Toni was just laying looking dead in the brooder box, she's about 6 weeks old.. I'm kinda freaking out. Her vent has a big red bump I never noticed, possibly a bit pasty butt.. but it doesn't look like pasty butt?

No treats. It doesn't look like pasty butt, but a red bump around her vent?! Of course my phone won't let me upload pictures.

My bf says she might just be "exhausted " from me having the lights on in the barn 24/7?! I haven't ever seen this before and I am upset she might die or have a disease and my entire flock will die.

I'm probably over reacting. I'm usually pretty good dealing with an injured bird.. until now.

Is she getting up at all? I would of course bring her in where I could keep a very close eye on her. Could another chick have pecked at her? Is it a bump with no scab?

I have never seen anything like a bump by their bum so for sure I suggest a second also posting in the injuries section. (I know you have probably already done this)

I would be freaked out as well.
If she is well enough to give her a warm soak in the sink or a basin I would do that to make sure she is good and clean and so I could have a better look.

She's in a dark box in my master bathroom with some microfiber cloths.

I gave her a few droppers of water and raw egg yolk because I couldn't find my nutridrench. She was fighting getting her mouth open and almost flew out of my bf's lap as he was helping me asses her.

He said to not stress her more with a bath and she just looked tired. We have so much going on right now getting ready for the biggest industry weekend event of the year for us 4/20 (less than 10 days away to prep for our booth) and I have 41 eggs hatching and. And. And. I didn't post in injuries because I can't upload a picture. But I DK what is wrong with her.

If she is active enough to give a fuss about being handled I would say that she is perhaps over tired.
I do hope she makes it through this.
Perhaps some rest will do her good.
How are the other chicks? If they are all fine and she is the only one acting oddly than I would keep her isolated for a couple days to keep an eye on her as well as watch them for any signs of being on the same path.

@21hens-incharge It would be so hard for me to give up any chicks! LOL Good thing I have strict limits on how many I can hatch or I'd be in super trouble.

@COChix Best of luck with your hatch! I hope it all goes well!

My little dudes are developing tiny mohawks! I don't know for sure if they'll develop partial crests or if the head feathers will smooth out as they grow out, but they crack me up right now. They're also flying around a lot. Mostly from my hand to my shoulder to the edge of my iPhone, but there have been a few scares where they flew right towards Arya & I may or may not have shrieked like a scared cartoon. They are definitely taking after their rooster. Except in the vocal department. That's all from the hens.

So, the craziest thing happened to my one full cochin chick yesterday. Some of you know our brooder, it's plywood walls with slits cut at each end, so the four panels fit together and make a square. My husband went to check on the babies while collecting eggs, and my poor little cochin had somehow trapped his neck in the slit, and hung himself. I don't have a clue how he managed it, either poked his head in and then freaked out, or fell in the exact spot and slid his head down the 1/2 wide inch slit. Either way, the poor thing broke its neck and scared the crap outta the other babies.
Our broody is a couple days from hatch, she's going to hate me but I have to take the chicks from her. Our little ones we brooded in the house just love us, they run and chirp anytime we call them. So, I want to do that with any new chicks, broodies make the babies run from us and it takes months to fix that. We're also about a week away from the cinnamon queens, and that's exciting too...although, do I really need this many egg layers?! Lol.
