LOL she has a name. She is Itty Bitty and only a tiny little thing. She is only about half the size of the other bantam cochins I have.

That is a 2x4 she is standing on. The other cochins in the pic are only 18 inches in front of her on the other roost.

The doctor wrote that he could return to work on Monday. I do not think he looked or asked what hubby does for work. He drives a tow truck. That is not a safe job to begin with so I think between his boss and I we will make him stay home a while longer. He has a really great boss that really does care.

She's a RUNT! I am a sucker for runts. Nice name. I had a problem with my Sussex hens digging holes under gates and doorways and the like, and they were much more persistent about re digging the holes than I was about filling them up. I ended up putting a large piece of cardboard - or a shingle or something stiff that they couldn't scratch through - over the filled in hole and under the fence. Stopped them right in their first scratch. I learned this from keeping box turtles, notorious for digging out of their enclosures. Nowadays I lay down tar paper and/or shingles under the perimeter of their enclosure, and they are not smart enough to back up and start digging. Works for chickens, too, good trick.

Wondering if this is gonna be 'the one that was missed"... It happens about every 3-5 years and has been about that long since the last one.

... WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON MST TUESDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON MST TUESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT."

Fom Sunday night to Tuesday afternoon? Hmmmmm... Calling for 6-14" Wonder if that's going to turn into 24"+ or hardly anything... Filled all the heated waterers for the birds, plenty of feed for them on hand. Hope y'all are prepared... just in case.

@21hens-incharge Hope hubby is feeling better and doesn't do anything foolish and unwarranted. Head issues aren't something to take lightly. I imagine he's probably sore in other areas as well from the fall. I recommend a nice Jacuzzi soak while staring into the snow storm and trying to catch snow flakes on his tongue. You should join him in said therapy

Thanks ya'll. Itty Bitty is in the coop and on the roost. I call win again! Of course she is not to happy about it and made the light Brahma get down. I am sure Jasmine will just get back up there and sit on the silly little chicken.

Hubby is sleeping a lot from the meds so that is ok..... as long as I can wake him up.

I am keeping a close eye on him and will not let him get to ambitious.

I am glad you are keeping a good eye on your husband; do not get lax about it. He should get a doctor's OK before he does ANYTHING. He might not be able to make good decisions for himself, and you will have to make them for him for awhile. Probably won't be fun.
x2 A good doctor's care is critical in the first couple of weeks. I hope he recovers quickly .....

It is flaking here and we have about 5 inches of snow so far from yesterday and maybe an inch overnight. Guess we will see......

Forecasts predict snow to start today until tomorrow am, 7-14 inches of new snow expected at least in the Denve area. As someone else said, we will see...
