I am not in the Colorado thread much lately.

I am up north of Berthoud.
Where are you thinking of ordering from?

I have only ordered once. I split an order with a friend. They came from Strombergs hatchery. They were all good strong birds.

I often look at Cackles site.
They are reasonably close so shipping stress shouldn't be horrible.
Just do know that several of their "rare breeds" aren't really all that rare.
Ideal hatchery is in Texas. They also carry a very wide variety.
They do run some pretty good specials throughout the season.

Strombergs prices include shipping by the way. No shipping cost shock with them.

While perusing on the Stromberg site, I noticed there was an option for a UPS ground upgrade for approx $18It wouldn't let me click on it though.. super surprised to even see that!

Have you ordered any bantams from them?.. Strombergs?

No. Ours were California Whites, Black Australorp, and red sex links.

If I were ordering bantams I would use Cackle or Ideal. I would prefer Cackle for them.

There is only one hatchery that sells sexed bantams. It is mypetchicken.com. There is a huge upcharge for female bantams.
Not sure how you feel about having males.

There is a thread here somewhere where folks have posted what they got in it. It sounds fun but I cannot have roosters.....

Oh wow! That's odd. UPS does not ship live animals.....never has as far as I know.

We did Murray McMurray last year and were very satisfied- only lost the “mystery chick” and had only two with pasty butt and that cleared up quickly.

We were originally looking at Murray McMurray but then I got concerned with its location. But.. with Cackle we are looking at approximately the same amount of distance.

We were wanting to get bantams and LF this time, did you get bantams from Murray?
