Colorado

A few of the air cells were spot on. A bunch were smaller than they should've been I believe. All the silkie eggs had ideal air cells for their ages. The eggs came from the house next door, so no elevations changes for the eggs. I read about that too. I think next go around I might try a little lower humidity. My son and I were just checking on them again. The one I've got that pipped made a bigger hole and is talking to us, and two of the silkie eggs started rolling around when we were cheeping at them

I ran it about 45% humidity during incubation, and were at 65% now for lockdown. I was too worried to go higher because of the smaller air cells on some of the eggs. I dont want to drown anybody!

I put these in lockdown Wednesday. So far I have 5 out 1 duck, one necked neck one black chick, and 2 turkeys.... i try to run my humidity a little lower usually shoot for 30 to 35% and then bump over 60 for lockdown. The bowls you see in the pic are to help increase the humidity

I have a baby bottle lid in there along with the reservoir in the bottom. The lid is just big enough to add that extra couple percentages I need. Its tapered too so I can adjust the surface area of the water super easily. The one egg pipped a bit bigger hole now and those silkie eggs are still rocking! So excited! I've got work tomorrow but idk of can sleep

Me too! One of the silkie eggs has pipped this morning and is now working on the zip! The second one that was rocking last night I haven't seen move yet. I'll share pics of whoever hatches out!!

Have you joined the August hatch s long? Lots of good things going on.
Maybe someday I will try silkys???
I haven't joined it actually. I was thinking the other day I wish I would have before I set my eggs. I'm supposed to be getting more eggs today. Maybe I'll head over an and join it when I get my eggs! Someone else had said to join the September one

I really wanted one to brook eggs to take some of this stress off me. Lol.

My landlords white peahen has hatched some eggs, at least she said she heard peeping in there. I'll be sure to snap some pics of them if they are out, along with the silkie parents of the one chick I hatched
