you could put some neosporin on the toe, but make sure it doe NOT have pain relief in it. That stuff is really bad for them.
As for the pasty butt, try putting a dab of olive oil on there. It should help prevent it. In a wk or so, if any of them are still having issues try giving them some greek yogurt.
Thank you, I will give it a try. Two of them are a bit smaller then normal. I chose them because I knew I could give them more attention then some. The little brown EE is the one with most of the problems but she acts okay. She was trying to fly out of the box on the way home. I can see she will be trouble. ;)

To all you Colorado Moms...Happy Mother's Day.

thank you! :)

My babies. The white one is Minchi, the brown - Houdini, the the black I think will be Arya... still working on the last one name.

Congrats, they are super cute! And yes, the first night I was very concerned about my babies when I went to bed. I think I woke up at 4:30am but made myself stay in bed until 5:45 or 6:00 before getting up to see how they were doing.

Got the "annex" to the brooder set up in the garage on Saturday. That gives us 48 square feet for the chicks (2X 4'X6' brooders connected with a door between them)..... 45 chicks ordered, plus 2 turkey poults, plus the extras the hatchery sends, plus the 6 that are just over a week old already in the brooder......... that make at least a total of 53 chicks........

Tuesday or (more likely) Wednesday could be entertaining at our house......

I added another heat lamp, another waterer and two additional small feeders to the brooders as well.

The current Dominique chicks now have 1 inch long wing feathers, and now flap furiously when they "go turbo" speed. LOL

I still have to finish the small houses by the end of June.
