Wendell's place is great. I absolutely love his setup and his friendly birds. Ya'll should see his jake. That guy is a terror and so much fun to watch. I may add one of his Dom cockerels developed a liking for me. His birds have such great taste.

Anyway, if you were to build an additional chicken door cover that had a screen on it, you could use that as extra ventilation (in addition to another window with a screen higher on the big side) and as a "chicken" window, and then just insert the solid sliding door at night. Make sense?

They are giving the fire update (Waldo Canyon) right now. 5,165 acres as of 11:00 last night. Fire made a run north and west last night. They are going to allow the Mountain Shadows residents back into their homes for only 1/2 hour today to gather more belongings. Highway 24 remains closed as they are concerned that the fire has made a hazard which may include rocks and damaged trees falling onto the highway. They lost one small storage structure at the eagle ridge camp (I think that's the right name).

My Gold Buffs love to come up to you when you enter the run. The too like shoe laces, and anything that pokes out.......including fingers!! When I was automating the watering system they were constantly pecking my fingers...I think because they were moving all the time. They get so close I have to push them back to get anything done!!

That reminds me, I can't believe I forgot to post. We have eggs too!

We got three on Sunday (2 blue,1 green), and two more yesterday (1 blue, 1 green). We've got 18 that will be laying soon, I can't wait til they're all laying we'll have all the colors.
