Good grief! I picked up my Australorp, Velvet, for a health check today. Has anyone else ever picked up a hen and thought of Jenny Craig? This girl has gone past 'big boned' to 'fluffy'. I swear, I think she is one third to half again the weight of my EEs! I need to get a scale out there and weigh her behind! I defiantly know what breed to go for for a 'sustainable' flock in the future!

I have missed you guys. I am sitting in a hospital waiting to go into surguery.

So it has been nice reading all the posts that you guys have generated since last Thursday.

My wife brought in her iPod for me to use, it's not as easy as my laptop.

I have been having these incredible abdominal pains. Thursday was bad...by Saturady evening I could not take it anymore and went to the emergency room. I have been in the hospital ever since.

Surgery got pushed to Tuesday morning.....maybe.
