I would bring it down a little if you can.  That seems a little high at the beginning of lockdown.  I try to keep it at no higher than maybe 75 during lockdown.

They can drown when the humidity is too high for too long. What were your humidity levels before lockdown? If you were doing a dry hatch, bring it down to about 65. That's where I keep mine. I'm assuming you are doing a wet incubation, which is why 75 is the sweet zone.

Id REALLY hate to drown the poor things! My humidity was at 30-35% for the first week then after the snow it got really dry and I had trouble so I bumped it up to 45% each time I added water and let it come back to 35ish before adding more

They told me that they order from a variety of hatcheries. I know some of my babies came from Cackle, but forgot to ask when I got the other ones where they came from.

OMG! We have a foot of snow and Steamboat Springs has 3ft. It does not look like it is going to stop. Small bird alert!!! Thank goodness my birds are red or I would never find them. and thank goodness for the forsight of getting an enclosed run.

OK, all you guys talking about hatching eggs are making this old lady pout. I SO want to hatch eggs, under a broody. Sadly, no rooster for me, and so far no signs of a broody, although I am considering buying fertile eggs if a broody ever shows up in my coop. My own fault, when I selected pullets, I deliberately looked for those that seldom went broody, since I saw no need for a broody hen when I couldn't have a rooster.

On a positive note, that beautiful, worthless, non laying EE I have has been ducking in and out of the nest boxes, and has dug out two (count them, 2) nests. I guess she likes having choices. She keeps throwing out the golf balls I have in there. I am now missing 3 golf balls. Don't know what they are buried under, but I'm certainly not going looking for them until she actually lays her first egg, which MIGHT be soon. I think she is now 31 weeks old. I helped Wendell slaughter some chickens about 4 weeks ago. Good thing for her I'm a patient person.

Yes the Wellie with feather loss is definitely going through a mini molt. Almost as soon as she loses feathers, I can see new feathers coming through the shafts. But she sure waited til late in the season to do this. I was expecting it more like in October, NOT December. She is a pitiful looking thing right now. Only losing from the back of her neck and her head right now, but her whole body looks so..........scruffy, untidy, not sleek. Like she has lotsa loose feathers that just don't lay down quite right. She's pretty **** ugly.

Please post some photos, lots of photos.... I have friends and family out with you guys, lots of Rocky Mountain Horse people. All we have is Sunshine and was up to 80* today. So ready for some cooler weather. Wish it was highs in the mid 60*s. Have to wait til the end of January to mid February for that. Love hearing about all the chickens and people in the great state of Colorado. And ya'll have not been over run with out of state fokes. Maye Ride the Glide....Got Gait.....I Do....
