Colorado

I whipped one up for him...there are some things I will tweak on the next one for sure but he sure didnt mind me putting it on him or wearing it. <3 I think he is already falling in love with us...he went over and sat in the hubbies lap for a good while!

He is so fluffy that you can hardly see it.

That is too cute! How often do you have to change him???

Is anybody here selling RIR chicks or eggs? I will be looking to add some in a couple months. Thought I would check to see if anybody local has a good line going?
I came across this ad, not sure of the quality, but she buys from both breeders, and hatcheries. This is what she had as of Dec 5th, " I got chicks today. So along with the Buff Orpingtons and Americaunas from last week I now have:
PULLETS: Barred Rocks, Light Brahmas, Rhode Island Reds, Golden Comets, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Gold Laced Wyandottes, more Buffs and more Americaunas.
COCKERELS: Rhode Island Reds. I was not sure if I could put her contact info on this post???

shipped eggs dont yield very high hatch rates. Shipping is so rough. IMO buying chicks is the best use of $$ then later u can hatch out yr own eggs. Or purchasing adult birds because u know exactly what u r getting. Coming up in January is the Natl Western Stock show which has a poultry show of birds both utilitarian & fancy breeds. Theres also several poultry clubs in Colorado whose breeders raise different types of fowl.

I found their schedule! Poultry Showmanship is on the 20th.

You are welcome! Hopefully he will find what he wants. The "Get To Know Your Farmer", had some nice pictures of hens, not sure if they were stock pictures, but if not, they were very good size! BTW, been meaning to ask how Beth is? And how her scans came back?

I joined the "get to know your famer" group on facebook. still haven't looked around much.

She got her bone scan dome on Friday. She has additional bone tumors. Not what we were hoping for.

I think the "Farmer" was going to add Black Marans in the spring. They seem to carry up to five breeds of chickens.

I am sorry to hear that on the scans. There is a good book out there, this lady battled stage four breast cancer, the book is about her journey back to health, when the Dr's had given up on her. The title is "A Cancer Battle Plan", by Ann Fraham. Here is a link http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/a-cancer-battle-plan-anne-e-frahm/1103714510 Is very inspirational!!!
