We got what I would call a skiff of snow, it was 14 degrees outside when I opened the pop door, and the girls all came out and spent most of the day ranging, in fact they probably still are, although the temp has been dropping the last couple of hours - we did get to 30 degrees, but it didn't stay there long. I imagine they're thinking about going in and getting cozy soon.

Hey all, Happy Holidays! About three inches up here and low of 0 but warmed up to a balmy 12. Chickens not into playing outside today so gave them treats inside the coop.

Is your new incubator plugged in yet?  Looking forward to hearing about your hatchings!!!!!!!!!!  lol

I put everything together but haven't plugged in yet. DH thinks we should wait a bit for a February hatch for increased interest and I agree. It will also give him time to clear out a portion of the downstairs office for incubator space! I need room to work after all.

For those who were asking about a RIR breeder in CO, I have located someone recommended by subscribers to the Heritage RIR and Heritage LF threads. I am waiting for specifics in terms of pricing, minimums, and whether local pickup is permitted and will let you know.
