Well the wind has already started here tonight, and I heard on the way home it may gust as high as 65 or 70 in some area. Batten down the hatches, ladies and gents.

My new incubator arrived today, but it's still in the box - I have had long days all week, I'm tired, I have a meeting tomorrow morning and then am heading up to Denver to bring home my son for the weekend, unless the weather tells me to wait another week. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt, opening that box means losing an hour or two, and it's going to have to wait.

It's a place called Larkspur Outlet, they advertise on Craigslist, small operation.  Should be getting the kit pretty soon, I told him I wanted to have it up by the end of January, he is supposed to be calling me with the schedule.

Nice, think I've come across their website before. I've thought about going the kit route, but I've never really built anything before, so I'm a bit reluctant to take on such an ambitious project

Sounds like you need to host a "barn raising party" with food and drink for your workers. Makes a fun job even more enjoyable, but withhold any alcoholic beverages until the job is done!

Well, DH is applying for jobs again. One is in Pueblo and the rest are from coast to coast. I have lost track of the locations of all of them but one was Alexandria, VA, one was in Southern California about a stones through from Tiajuana, and a third was in Texas. I hope he gets the Pueblo job. Call me picky but I don't like most of the places those jobs are. Texas is the only possible exception right now, depending on what region.

Oh, add Oklahoma.

Pueblo isn't too bad.

Pueblo is my top pick. I might actually get to do my whole chicken breeding/sustainable flock idea there. :). I just like having green around me and most of the places DH picked are very dry/treeless. I was raised in western Washington so places with no trees or green bushes just look wrong to me. I don't need a whole forest, just a certain level of green.

When we moved here from SW Washington (Woodland) my kids about went into convulsion. LOL

On another note, a few minutes ago, the wind was 48 MPH at the Colorado Springs Airport.
