Did some work on my coop today. Installed the osb and the window.... Just waiting on a few more free 2x6 and a few more sheets of osb and I can finish it up. Up to this point the only money I have spent on this coop is on nails for my nail gun lol.

Sounds like you need to host a "barn raising party"  with food and drink for your workers.  Makes a fun job even more enjoyable, but withhold any alcoholic beverages until the job is done!

I'd be careful with their "kits". The guy that runs that place is a nice guy but you should be aware of what your getting. He specializes in buying "cull" wood from the major lumber yards. Cull lumber is what's left after everyone has picked through the lumber pile. It's usually twisted and warped. I'm not saying you can't build with it but its much more difficult then with quality lumber. Not calling him a cheat but I think he should be upfront with telling people this. I have read many a rant about him on Craigslist from unhappy customers. I have purchased some items from him before and you can get pretty good deals from him. Though I have never bought lumber from him, I looked at it and passed. I am a contractor so I may be partial to quality wood as I use it everyday. But good luck with your kit, hopefully it's decent!

<sigh> I guess I will let you all know when it gets here. The walls, floor, and roof trusses are supposed to be pre-built. If there is a problem I'll petition through Paypal for a refund I guess. My main concern now is I can't seem to get a scheduled delivery date. Already making sure I know what my alternatives are. I like backup plans. I appreciate the heads up.

Actually there are some Amish in southern Colorado who do sheds, mainly for horses, as I looked them years ago.

There are also lots of Amish people that have moved to Westcliff, not sure how to find them though......... as you said they are not on line!

Wish I could afford there tso story Amish built barn, but alas, no funds for it. They do have some shed kits here though, Amish made http://www.alansfactoryoutlet.com/shed-kits/

Well, DH is applying for jobs again. One is in Pueblo and the rest are from coast to coast. I have lost track of the locations of all of them but one was Alexandria, VA, one was in Southern California about a stones through from Tiajuana, and a third was in Texas. I hope he gets the Pueblo job. Call me picky but I don't like most of the places those jobs are. Texas is the only possible exception right now, depending on what region.

Oh, add Oklahoma.

We could be neighbors! I like Pueblo, people are nice. It's warmer down here in summer, but probably not as warm as the other areas you mentioned. Alexandria probably has more greenery than Pueblo or Texas.

Last night I dreamed about my chickens being cold and that I snuck them inside my house in containers. Has anyone ever had chicken dreams? I think I am so worried about the upcoming 2 nights of -5 degrees that it's getting to me. This morning I talked my DH into moving the coop up against the house to provide more shelter from the wind. Is this enough? should I bring them inside over the next 2 days? I have really really big rubber maid containers with mesh fitted lids and have used them as temporary "chicken hotels" when a chicken needs to be separated or such. I know they will be warm in the laundry room and safe if needed.

I have.
Protection from the wind is important, but chickens have these really nice down coats that they wear all the time. They will be fine.
