Colorado

hello to those in Colorado, Im in the springs and got my first flock back in August... it's a lot different and smaller then my grandmothers flock, but they are still very fun. i wanted to know about the small animal swap something/event some of you are speaking of. i have a leghorn (i think that's what she is) that is about five months old but she is small and not laying yet. i do not want to give up on her just yet. but i would like to see an event like this just to see how it works. is there a website about the swap, so i can get info and locations?
Check Craigslist Denver (Bird swap). "January 26, 2013 8am till 12 noon 51st and Ward, Wheat Ridge Colorado "Small Animal, Bird Swap and Market" Email us at [email protected] for directions and with questions."

It says 51st and ward, but I didn't see 51st street meeting up w\ Ward on Google maps, so I'm a little confused myself. I e-mail for direction, but I have not heard back yet.

Hi all, I am looking for a RIR roo. I will buy, trade or rent the bird for just a month or so in May. I know it is early but I have the fever! Age does not really matter as long as he does not have spurs. I would trade some chicks that hatch for the use of the roo. I have no diseases in my flock of 35+-, no mites, and the hens are very spoiled so if a temp situation would work for anyone that would be great. If anyone has one now or later just give me a PM. I am in NW Colorado but do come to the front range often. I could pick up or meet someone.
I am also looking for call ducks. Duckling, adults, or fertile eggs. Both grey and snowy calls. Again, just give me a PM is anyone has any ducks or the RIR roo.

Have you checked on craigslist recently? I've seen a lot of listings for roosters.

Here's a craiglist posting for some roosters. Looks like they have RIR. They are in Black Forest which is by Colorado Springs if you aren't familiar with the area. Not sure if this is too far south for you though.

So far 6 with 1 that has pipped. I have a surprise out of a marans egg. It came out yellow. I kid you guys naught.... all my others out of the darker shells come out black or black with white on the wing tips. Not this little one. It's yellow. There is no mistake as I watched it hatch. Soooo.... when I can take pictures, I will. So who's the daddy? the only daddy it could be is the white frizzle. All of my other roosters are black. Unless i have a roo that is not crowing yet.
