WOOHOOO!! So happy for you!

Wow.... I just had a vision of me at the feed store with the bins of chicks.... I'm at the very least going to make a fool of myself giggling insanely at how cute they are, but I'm hoping my husband will be able to keep me from climbing in the bin! I'm thinking it'd be great fun to sit in the chick bin giggling with all the chicks climbing/jumping all around me!! I'll try to keep it together, but since I've got another week I can't make any promises!!!

It's exciting to see all these new chicks. I'm jealous. I just candled my 9 turkey eggs and NONE were fertile.

What is up with that? My tom seems busy enough. These were the first eggs laid and I usually have a few duds, but not all of them. I put some more eggs in the bator, so now I have to wait another 10 days to see if things will improve.

Yikes, my fridge is full of eggs! I'll never miss my spinning group in Boulder again, they buy up all of my eggs so I don't usually have this problem








that's 14 dozen for sale, and about 4 dozen little/ugly eggs for us in the bowl, and there were about a dozen with hairline cracks that we give to the chickens. There's a dozen goose eggs for eating too. I know what our protein source is for the next month! I think I need to buy another fridge before spring gets here.

I lost three total but everyone is looking good now.  I called McMurray and they agreed that it sounded like shipping stress from getting too chilled at some point.

I am so glad to hear all the chicks are doing well now!

My little BR chick and Blk Australorp were the same size when I got them a week ago Friday. Now the blk australorp is like dbl the size of my BR. She's eating a drinking but doesn't seem to be growing much. Is this normal. Loving the snow

I had another one hatch . I think this one may be a pure Marans as it is all black.
