Colorado

The law won't allow more than 4 here and I won't have a coop large enough for 4 chickens, as they can't free range. The breeds I got said that cold weather barely affects them, so I hope they'll be ok next winter with just the two. They're inside in the brooder for the remainder of this year's winter weather.

I think you are the only law abiding chicken owner in these parts, besides those with no limits.............. LOL! No really

So, I washed and dried my cell phone last night.

I was kinda wondering what that noise was in the dryer. It still works and it is clean, go figure. Now if I can have the same luck with my eggs in lock-down as of last night. Left 4 iffy ones in because they don't smell and have 15 that look good. We shall just have to wait and see, and wait............

I am finding Amazon is a site to shop...Are you doing prime.. Think you get free shipping for a year if you do..

I'm not doing amazon prime, it just happened that the rolls had the free super saver shipping. And yes they are big heavy rolls, shipping would have been awful if they had charged it.

I am certainly hoping to hatch some out right away, it depends on how much of an interruption the shipping creates in the 4 new hens' laying.  From what I've been able to gather, like most things with chickens, it all depends LOL.  I'll keep you posted on whether they resume laying quickly.

I can wait, and see what you can hatch out. Would love to surprise him with some more silkies, and buying them local is always my first choice. Keep me posted :)

I've got prime but the problem I found recently was all the hardware cloth that was on prime was 1/4in, not 1/2 and shipping on the 1/2in rolls (36 or 48in widths) was almost double the cost of the roll! Turns out for 36in rolls the price at Home Depot is only $2 more than what I could get on Amazon once you factor in shipping.

How did everyone survive the wind and snow?

We had sustained winds in the 40-60 MPH range for over 24 hours. Got a little fence gate damage, found the missing barrel, and no shingles abandoned us.

The poults survived their bout with the cold, and are still in the house until tomorrow.

I LOVE Amazon! but you do have to pay attention with shipping, etc.

We hope to have some Dominique chicks at ChickenFest!
