I think i read once that there is a place associated with DUH that will process your live birds for $10.... I was researching the denver homesteading and i think that was where i came across it!

I'm a newbie so forgive me for not knowing! But what is DUH? I'm looking for a place to butcher my future meaties. I found a place through eatwild.com a while ago by castle rock but I can't seem to find it now! Thank you!

I can't make up my mind - feel free to weigh in....

Wood floor, or dirt floor?

(it would help if I would make up my mind on sand or DL.... or maybe it wouldn't.... I can't decide)

I have had both a dirt floor and a wooden floor. I much prefer the dirt floor, easy to clean, and no stains when I am done cleaning it. Did I mention, easy to clean!

Thanks for the zoning help, I am really worried about it but I have time so I need to not rush myself. I am just eager to get the girls some land and see there reaction to it.

For a fun time try calling extended stay hotels and when they ask you if you have any pets (because site says pets allowed, not specific at to what kind of pets) say oh just the three chickens but they are rather quiet. That was fun to do to the Sheridan, with rooms at $120 a night, discount for extended stay.
So, I'm curious, did any of them let you stay with your chickens?
