The DUH swap - my understanding is that one need not be there to buy, sell, or swap, I'm sure people get there planning to buy and don't find what they want.

Unless I wanted to bring the brand new chicks, which seems like a terrible idea to me, I guess I won't be going after all - I am dropping off the last 9 pullets to someone meeting me in Pueblo, on my way to meet Mayah. I will not miss the extra miles or drive time :) I will miss lunch with my son but I can go up another time for that, lots to do around here.

Mtn Margie - I can't remember what kind of quail you were thinking about, but someone on the Just In Time and BIN thread has 4 flats of 50 Pharaoh Quail eggs they need to sell due to a wiring problem in an incubator, she is asking $5/flat plus actual cost shipping, if you are interested. Things there move fast so she may or may not have them all left (or any of them) - emvrickey (or might be emvricky, can't remember now) is the BYCer selling. Her Black Silkie eggs are the ones I'm hatching now, she does a good job packaging. Shipped eggs, as always, have iffy results, but the price is right :)

Hey thanks, I'll check it out. 22 messages since this am? Really, you ALL need to be outside enjoying the day like I was.

If anyone is passing by Franktown (maybe on the way to ChickenFest) I just acquired a load of egg cartons. There are more than 100 dozen sized Styrofoam type. Just leave me a few. P

Wow, 25 posts since yesterday, thread if flying.

Wendell, Wishing for the best on your remaining eggs! Have fun at the reenactment, enjoy your mini vacation.

Not sure who was asking about the DUH, but lots of people go, just to see the farm critters.

Pozee, Congrats on your mixed bag! They sound like a lovely bunch. I would think the hatheries are winding down with their hatching. Does McMurry sell in the summer too?

Not sure who was asking about ducks and chickens together, I think it can be done, but ducks and geese can be messy with the water, they think they should be in it!!!

I am enjoying the quacks of the wild ducks that visit our pond, had a crane show up too, very cool looking!!! And several very tired Canadian geese were here beginning of the week, but they don't stay long.

My broody has hatched at least one

Eggshell kicked out from under her, appears to be one of the RIR eggs. Another RIR hatched in the incubator, and at least one more still pipped, looks like another Silkie has pipped also.
