Colorado

So my little girl has strep and this morning was her second dose of antibiotics.   She's still fairly tired so we won't be coming.  The end of chickenfest is toward the end of her mandatory 24 hour quarantine phase so thought I'd just sneak her in.  But she's barely mobile again today so can't do that to her in good conscious.   I really wanted to bring some of the colloncas but I suppose there is next month at the chicken swap.  Although the chicken swap won't be as egg-citing as chickenfest.

:( I was hoping to see you guys there. I hope your DD gets her spunk back soon. It's hard to imagine her not zipping around picking up chickens and ducks.

I was looking forward to it. Anyplace I can talk chickens is usually the place I like to be. =) She's having ice cream for breakfast with a request for jello for lunch.

I feel a bit guilty. On my way to moms dropping the kids off before work I happened to take "the short cut" to Wardle feed in Wheatridge. I was thinking of chickenfest and I know I would have come home with something so I took home 2 barred rock x cochin roosters they are beautiful and another cochin mix poss astralop. They are in moms unoccupied coop at the moment having a grand ole time.

Boy am I tired!

Hope all had a good time at ChickenFest. We sure did. Got a nice sunburn...  I have no idea how many people actually came, but it seemed like a lot.

Someone left a bowl and a chicken feeder.

There were at least 20 cars when we arrived and most seemed to be pairs or families so...

I had fun. :) I chatted Chicken, sold some chicks and learned how to process roosters. Fun and learning, can't beat it! :D

Wendell, thank you for all the time, thought, and effort you put into ChickenFest 2013, I would say it was a great success, and suspect if there's a ChickenFest 2014 it will be even better attended, and that you will be required to once again do the processing demo. It was great to meet so many of the people I "see" online, and wonderful to meet Logan and welcome him to the chicken lovers family :)

It was a fantastic time. My son napped on the way home (which he usually doesn't do!)
We will be building a fabulous chicken launcher.
My favorite part was the class at the end!! Nothing better than a wet lab !! Thanks a billion Wendell. Your place is amazing.
I learned.... Why did the chicken cross the road?? To run away to Wendell's digs!!
