The babies have started laying! 10 eggs yesterday

How fun! My babies aren't old enough yet. Wasn't planning on raising chicks this year, then had an opporunity to incubate 40 eggs, only three hatched, & one survived, so rushed out and bought a dozen or so to raise with this one. Can't wait til they lay!

Thanks for the offer and idea. We will have to see how it all works out. So far we are hanging in. A neighbor behind us already said we could haul water from them so that helps. We may need to find homes for the animals for winter to lessen the load.

I am so glad you guys are safe.  I was wondering about you as well.  I do not know if it would help, but we have a pack saddle and paniers if you need them (and the horses) .  The road fix is easy? with achainsaw and covering it with timbers like how they used to in the pioneering days.    Oh well.  Holler if you need something. I did see Safeway trucks heading that way on the Peak to Peak.    Hugs!!!!

I hipe we get a freeze here soon to kill off the mosquitos. Normally we get one at my place on or around the first weekend of October...

The Denver chicken coop tour is this weekend. This is a great event if you are still considering whether to get chickens or still planning your coop. It is this Saturday, September 21. My coop will be on the tour!

Change is in the air!! Aspens are slowly starting to turn gold, not many, but a few! Bye, bye flying insects!

Can you cover the tomatoes with plastic or ?????

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my 20 tomato plants are just now starting to show anything other than green tomatoes.  Finally some of them are blushing pink.

I will be covering the pumpkins. The mosquitos have been terrible at my place, to the point that it is difficult to even be outside. Even with repellant.
