Forgot to post the pic of the heater we decided on for our bucket waterers. They are submersible or can float, they work in plastic or metal buckets and have built in thermostats. Some of the reviews that I read, stated that this product used less energy than aquarium heaters and other de-ices as well. Did you know K & H is out of Colorado Springs? Well they are, so feel even better supporting a local company.

Just a reminder, today sure feels like a late winter day here.........
I am already sick of winter, and the sun today is wonderful! I'm quite disspaointed after viewing two Wagoneers, I've given up my search for one. I absolutely love them, but the poor things just don't age well. One privately owned was a disaster, and one at a dealership that had some mysterious issues that may or may not break the bank. Even with them greatly discounting the price, I just can't get over the endless possibilities of what needs to be fixed. It was great to see them up close though, otherwise I'd always regret not buying one. Another disappointment is the new model Wagoneer coming out in a year or two, it's hideous, and modeled after all the other SUVs and crossovers...which I hate. Hawaii looks better and better everyday :) Now, all I need to do is win the lottery.

Have you considered a Range Rover? You have to drive one to feel the difference between them, and a Jeep, they are totally different.

Yep, eight weeks til the first day of spring..... I am counting down the days! Is a beautiful warm day here, I feel bad for the west coast and what is bearing down on them today and tomorrow. Hope all the animals stay safe in that area, as it sounds like it is goinng to be BIG storm!

Will add that water heater to my list of must haves.... thanks for posting it!

I've looked at them, and dislike the look...it took me two years to pick my first vehicle, the one that I'm the sole driver on. I'm one of those visual people, looking at the outside before the inside...not always a great quality, and tends to extend my decision making process quite a bit. I love my little Forte, and would keep it if the back end didn't give me a heartattack every time it comes in contact with minor ice.

CoChix- thank you for posting about the no-waste feeder. I've now read the whole thread, and that'll be hubby's project during convalescence leave. I've been looking for a larger no waste feeder, and this one is perfect.

You are welcome I love sharing DIY and cost saving tips, this community has a lot! Here is a shot of a 15 gallon drum feeder that someone did on that thread. We have a 15 gallon drum like that so hoping to make something similar and then the 5 gallon bucket as well. The 5 gallon bucket I think holds 25lbs of feed, hoping the 15 gallon will hold 75-100. If that works out that way I am only hoping to have to fill the feeders twice a month at most, maybe once every three weeks. Oh that would be nice. My BF is getting me hot knife for my feeder project. Trying to do all these projects with no help from him. As long as I have the right tools I am fine. I will post pics of the feeders when I am done. Probably be a day or so until they are completed as today I am making kraut burgers to freeze for my recovery. Just trying to stay productive to keep my mind off the next two months of restrictions.

I'm also looking for something that doesn't have to be filled daily, so bigger is definetely better. Two five gallon buckets should be perfect.

I was just outside with the chickens, soaking up the sun while I can, and realized I have two giant Rubbermaid tubs that would make perfect feeders with at least six eating ports. I'll have my husband decide which one to use, square or circle.

They're beautiful birds! Only downside to them is they're difficult to find

I would order some online but most place's minimums are a lot more than we can take in at the moment so I'm forced to find them locally. We ordered some about two years ago from a feed supply store and it turned out they were not Welsh Harlequins but Buff Orpingtons

Cackle has them. I have an order in with Cackle and might be adding a couple of these guys onto the order. Would you like me to add some for you?
