Congrats DK on the hatchlings! So cute!
I am on day3 on my first hatch. So I have been watching closely. Did you candle your eggs? I guess I"ll try in a few days, but I have no idea what I am looking at.

Glad you sorted out your GF feed situation too. I hope they do well with it. I'm sure you will be feeling better using the GF.

Yea! Go Maggie go!

Thus begins my saga of hatch watch 3 2015 :)

a bit more pipping, but not much progress.

My roos have begun the morning crowing contest. Time to start the day :)

I will update more as things progress.

I got a ticket too!

Maggie, candling is easier than it sounds. I usually wait until 6/7 days and then it is pretty obvious which ones have started and then I just let them be from there. I will check a couple at lockdown for the airsac size when I am removing the turner but I try to not handle them. That being said, the first time we hatched eggs out, we were checking on them every few days.

Some more progress. I can't seem to upload picts at the moment, but I hear it peeping inside the incubator!

On day seven or eight you will see veining in the egg if it is developing, I don't toss eggs until the second candling, just in case some are late starters or ????? Best place to candle is a in a windowless room at night, but you probably already know that.

OK, thanks everyone.
I have to say, I an surprised at the emotions I am feeling. This started with me ordering 6 eggs off Ebay for a broody. I had almost no expectations or hope of hatching more than one or two. Now, the broody didn't cooperate and I know have an incubator with 23 eggs in it and I am dreaming of every little eggs hatching and will be so sad if/when they don't.
I know, at best maybe less than 1/2 will hatch. Probably less because I don't know what I am doing...but the emotions are totally unexpected.
...chicken math....
