Colorado

I only see 6.

Chicken math is such fun.

Technically according to my calculations you only have the potential of having one chicken. One food dish=one chicken however that chicken is still a chick and therefore cannot lay eggs so no eggs=no chicken.
I do think you need to go back and try again to get a chicken.

I tried to switch it up a bit, our current flock is Barred Rocks, GL Wyandotte, Welsummer and EEs.
I'm adding
2 Speckled Sussex
2 Cuckoo Marans
2 BAs
1 Iowa Blue
1 Ancona
1 Partridge Rock
And the darn lady took too long to check me out and I ended up grabbing 1 EE because really, who can refuse those fluffy cheeks?

Yup, we've got blue sky now too but that's one of the joys of living in Colorado. Were at 7800 feet. Have you had any problems with hatching out chicks at your altitude? I have a friend at about your altitude and she has had no success with hatching out turkeys, she believes, because of the altitude.
I have pretty good success hatching my own eggs and maybe a third of the ones from the plains, although the quail eggs that I hatched last summer from the Denver area were 32/42 hatched and only one chick died.

Well... I was supposed to come home with 6. I think I may have 'miscounted'

I only see six.... Our EE is named Owl, cause she looked like a barn owl when she was young, however she is almost blind, so go figure that one!

I only see six too. Just like I only have 15 chickens. ;)

Our bantam EE looked like an owl too so she is named Gilfy, an owl from a book my daughter was into at the time.

My neighbor and i did the final candling and locked down 41 out of 42 eggs last night. Hatching should comence Saturday night or Sunday.
My incubator is at his house at the moment. He did not notice that the fan had quit running. I changed it out pretty quickly i do not think the eggs were affected. I should have at least 8 silky americauna eggs hatching. Does anyone want any blue egg layers that look like this once grown.

Samar, we may be interested. Please message me when you have chickies. Thanks.
