Colorado

There is a swap in Brighton at the TSC on the 13th from 7 am to noon. Free to sell there so should be a lot of people going. There used to be one in Brighton at the feed mill but that has been many years ago. I am thinking the TSC sale would be a good one to hit since it was long established to have the swaps in Brighton.
There is a new one in Loveland but with it being the first ever since May was rained out I am heading to the Brighton one with my birds.

Should be a busy swap.

Very nice looking set up! I wouldn't sell it for less than your asking price! Aside from the cost of materials you've invested a LOT of labor and it's worth all that and more.

Thank you so much. I recognized I needed to ask a little more for it. I've been getting some good interest on it. It's just tough being in limbo waiting to hear when we're moving.

coop and chickens

$900 – Colorado Springs

Waiting for rain to end to finish painting!
JUST completed our chicken coop... we have four 8 week old chicks.
Just got news we are relocating for my job and can't find a place that we can bring our chickens with. No fresh eggs for us

Coop is 4ftx3ft, with 4 external nesting boxes added. A 4ft roosting bar with poop board. Sand bedding is awesome for quick clean up.
We purposefully built the run using separate panels for easy disassemble.
I also have pvc feeder and waterer with horizontal nipples. (Keeps waste at minimum and water clean)

Buff Orpington (great layer breed and super sweet)
Australorp (also great layer breed)
Easter Egger (Fun for kids, lays colored eggs and has gorgeous plumage)
And a White Silkie (so hard to determine gender with this breed. 50% chance it's a roo)

We've spent in excess of $1000 so am asking $900 for whole set up.

This rain is just ridiculous. I'm one of those coughing seals :(

I'm so sick today. Fever. Chills. Sweating. Earache. Headache. Coughing. The cx meaties are still waddling around the yard. I truly plan on them going to freezer camp Saturday. They will be 11 weeks old then.

One muscovy hatched eggs, the other was on bad eggs I think and now IDK WTD for her.

I moved another muscovy and she has decided. . I want to go broody now too. It is catching! !

Also an appenzeller spithauben pullet I bought and named Giselle decided to start crowing yesterday.

I am bringing the svart honas from greenfire farms home this weekend too. Hmm. Which means I have a trio of bean line ayam cemani for sale. I need to make room.

I am looking to add a couple milk goats soon. Does anyone here have goats?

Oh no!!!! Sounds like a very croupy cold is making the rounds!

Have you decided on which breed of goat you are interested in? We have Alpines, none bred though..... know of a gal local to me that will have Cashmere (sp) kids next kidding season, if you wanted to go that route.

That is a seriously cute coop!!!!

Good info on the swap! I think there is one in Canyon this coming weekend too if you live further south.

I was thinking dwarf nigerian goats, because of size. But I may want more milk than that. I do want high % butterfat in the milk to make goats milk butter and cheeses.

Thank you! It's been my project and it's finally gone from dream to reality. .. never thought we'd be relocating! We're going to California, I'd live to take it if I can but we're looking at town home living :/

I know when I was trying to find a pre made coop I would've loved the whole shebang... got alot of the ideas for this one on here :)

Hey DK, don't have the goats yet, but already bought the LGD puppy. Have some feelers out right now and would like either Lamancha's, Alpines, or Nubians, in that order, all for their milk quality as well as quantity... Most probably will buy 2 of each and then get a Nigie buck (dwarf) to breed them and make "mini's". Almost as much milk, a goat ~ 1/2 the size, and a feed bill about 1/2 to go with it!

Can't go wrong there! Good luck in your search!
