Well, we had our daily shower here, actually two moved through. Something is growing, as my allergies are early this year, I usually have them in the fall!

These guys are getting big fast, they are ten weeks old already!

Yea it has been sunny here last two days but with showers in pm. Temp gauge hit 89 today suppose to be warmer the next couple days.

The broody is still catching!!!

Now a runner duck and a muscovy are on eggs along with 2 chickens after 3 ducks just hatched babies.

I am possibly getting a booth at the cherry creek mall to sell my extra produce and eggs and plant starts. It's kinda expensive though.

I need to sell a lot of my chickens because so many have hatched now, with more expected also.

Would anyone be interested in any of my fibro sbel project chicks or juvenile pullets? They are out of my crested cream legbars and easter eggers with my ayam cemani roo over them

I would love to have some too but lol chicken math has me way over capacity right now and I have to sell too.

I went out to put fresh water down and one of the Dark Brahmas snuck in with the older chickens. OMG I did not realize just how big they have gotten. She is as big as my 4 year old Delaware!

I was doing that on the inside! If my ankles & legs worked like they used to, totally would have done it for real. XD

They are very pretty birds Uzi. I know you would take good care of them. I totally understood the jumping up and down for them.

With your polish hens do you have to trim their top knot? Little Jennifer has such a round poof when I trimmed it so she could see it grew back very quickly. Not sure how to keep them trimmed properly.

I've only had to trim 1 of them so far & that was because the flock decided to break a egg & rub it all over themselves. It was a mess. XD From the feedback that I've gotten on the subject, people mostly just trim the feathers along the line of sight for them if the poofs get too out of control. Mine haven't gotten crazy huge yet & they don't have any problems navigatng their pen & coops so I've just left them alone. I suppose if I start letting the free range without me watching them, I'll want to trim them up. Suddenly, we have a pair of hawks circling our yard as part of their hunting grounds. The flock usually doesn't wander very far from their pen (Odysseus doesn't like to leave it at all & usually rounds everyone back in pretty fast), but it would probably be good for them to see more just in case.

The one that I did trim hasn't had it grow back yet. I'm waiting for it to happen when she goes through her molt. With her, I kinda just had to hack away the yolk stuck feathers so there wasn't any styling going on there. She looks the least glamorous, but she's also the fastest & hardest to catch now.

The last 2 months at work have left me severely depressed, so this weekend I was determined to get the new coop painted inside. And I got it done!

I felt pretty good that I accomplished something, even though I did not get the roosts up yet.

The flock was less impressed with my work & refused to check it out. At least they've figured out the ramp & skyway!

It did look like I wasn't going to get the painting finished when this storm rolled right passed us instead of over us.

Also, Memnoch's face is getting all bumpy & fat as his waddle grows out! He still hasn't figured out how to make his crow sound like a real crow, but he's working on it. I like that he lets me handle him & that he likes to piggy back on my shoulder like Odysseus does. Too bad Mercury is less trusting of me still.

Wow, Wow, and Wow again! Your coop is beautiful! (What is the "skyway"?). Your birds are beautiful! And your photo is a work of art!

Thank you Uzi. It is good to know that it made her far less easy to catch. I am still a bit concerned about at least partial blindness in Jennifer. I will have to pay attention to if she is harder to catch with the trimmed crest or not. She is able to eat at least. I thought she was maybe just bumping into the feed dish but I saw her actually actively eating off the ground. She keeps flipping her head before each peck. I assume to get a glimpse of the food. I may try and trim her closer to help her all I can. I cut what I thought was quite a bit off but perhaps in the grand scheme of things I need to trim more.

Having Hawks coming around would worry me with yours being tiny birds. Them hawks are brave when it comes to swooping in for a chicken.

Odysseus has great eye sight and I am sure he is a fast bugger when he wants to be. Those little roosters can be quite a boon in keeping the ladies warned of potential danger.

Years ago when I had the bantam cochin rooster (named Scooter) he was awesome. LOL small and slow at running with them big feathers but super at making the alarm call when a hawk was above. Once I was in the barn (in the coop section) when he did it and OH MAN, there were 30 hens coming in both on foot and on wing as fast as they could. The door was a horse stall door so quite tall. It was hard to get out of the way of the hens that were coming in panicked.
